...The works "Plaque with a Crow in the Spring Moon" and "Vase with a Picture of the Yoshino River," which won the Honorary Gold Award at the Second Domestic Industrial Exposition in 1879, were made using wire cloisonné, but he later perfected wireless cloisonné. Previously, cloisonné was made using inlay or wire cloisonné to create arabesque or geometric designs, but wireless cloisonné gave birth to pictorial cloisonné, which depicts flowers, birds, the moon, landscapes, and people, the subjects of Japanese painting. He also employed the Japanese painter Watanabe Seitei (1851-1918), a student of Kikuchi Yosai, as his designs, and his works, which made full use of glaze shading and shading, were well received....
