〘Noun〙 A naked pushing event held at the early dawn of January 15th at Saidaiji Temple in Okayama City, following the Shushou-e festival. Naked men who have taken a water ablution in the Yoshii River the night before compete for a stick about one foot long called a shingi . Following this example, there are events of the same name in various parts of the Sanyo and Shikoku regions. Naked festival. [Seasonal/New]

〘名〙 岡山市にある西大寺で、一月一五日未明に行なわれる、修正会(しゅしょうえ)につづく裸押しの行事。前夜、吉井川で水垢離(みずごり)をとった裸の男たちが、神木(しんぎ)と称する一尺ほどの棒を取り合うもの。これにならって、山陽、四国地方の各地に同名の行事がある。裸祭り。《季・新》
