...Many of Hoitsu's pupils included Suzuki Kiitsu and Ikeda Koson (1801-66), but Kiitsu's style of painting, which was ahead of the modern era, has been especially highly praised in recent years. It is becoming common to call these works Edo Rinpa and distinguish them from the earlier Kansai-style Rinpa, but the proportion of craft works in Edo Rinpa has decreased.
