H-Coal Method - H-Coal Method

Japanese: H-Coal
H-Coal Method - H-Coal Method

...The technologies are broadly divided into direct liquefaction and indirect liquefaction.
[Direct coal liquefaction]
This is a method of directly converting solid coal into liquid fuel, and is classified into three types according to the principle: (1) low-temperature carbonization (COED method), (2) catalytic hydrocracking (Bergius method, H-Coal method), and (3) non-contact solvent extraction (SRC method, EDS method, solvolysis method). (1) Low-temperature carbonization This is a method in which coal is carbonized at a relatively low temperature (400-600°C) and the resulting low-temperature tar is refined to produce liquid fuel. Examples include the COED (coal oil energy development) method, but the disadvantage is that the yield of liquid products is low.
