...The 2,054 lines of the work largely based on the official history, Dai Viet Sagi, cover the history from the ancient Hongban Dynasty to the Tay Son Dynasty at the end of the 18th century. It is a sequel to the Tiannan Golú Wai Ji, the first long historical poem written in the national language at the end of the 17th century. In 1858, the 11th year of the reign of the Nguyen Dynasty, this book, which had been handed down under the title Records of the Grand Historian (Song of the Mandarin Language), was revised by Le Ngo Cat and others, who added new history from the Le dynasty and revised it into 1,916 lines of The Vietnamese History in Mandarin. Pham Xuan Qué then revised this into the 1,887 lines of The Vietnamese History in Mandarin, which was further revised and revised by Pham Dinh Toai and Pham Dinh Thoc until it was completed as a 2,054 line poem, which was engraved in 1870. Generally speaking, the translation of Chinese prose into Vietnamese verse is called en'on, and the resulting work was called enka, but since the country was called Dainan at the time, the title "Dainan Kokushi Enka" was chosen.

…おおむね正史《大越史記全書》の記述によって古代のホンバン(鴻厖)朝から18世紀末のタイソン(西山)朝までの歴史を2054行で歌っている。17世紀末に民族語によって書かれた最初の歴史長編詩《天南語録外紀》の流れを引くもので，グエン朝嗣徳11年(1858)，《史記国語歌》の題名で伝わっていたこの書をレ･ゴ･カット(黎呉吉)らが校訂し，新たにレ朝の歴史を加えて《越史国語》1916行に改稿，その後これにファム･スアン･クエ(范春桂)が手を加えて《越史国語潤正》1887行の長編詩として成ったものに，さらにファム･ディン･トアイ(范廷倅)やファム･ディン･トック(范廷植)らが推敲や修訂を加えて2054行の長編詩として完成し，1870年に板刻された。一般に中国語の散文をベトナム語の韻文に訳すことを演音といい，その作品を演歌と称したが，当時，国を大南と号したところから《大南国史演歌》の名が付けられた。…
