Siberian lily of the valley - Siberian lily of the valley

A perennial plant of the orchid family (APG classification: Orchidaceae). Also known as blue lily of the valley. It resembles the persimmon orchid, but its flowers are green and the whole plant is densely covered with short hairs. It is distinguished from the short-rhizome ecotype that grows in pine forests on the Pacific coast as the Hamakakiran. It grows in the subalpine forests north of the Chubu region of Honshu, and is distributed in northeastern China, Ussuri, and Kamchatka.

ラン科（APG分類：ラン科）の多年草。別名アオスズラン。カキランに似るが、花は緑色、全草に短毛が密生する。太平洋側の海岸のマツ林に生える根茎の短い生態型をハマカキランとして区別する。本州中部地方以北の亜高山帯の林下に生育し、中国東北部、ウスリー、カムチャツカに分布する。
