Mogami Tokunai helped publish "Moshiogusa" and he himself learned the Ainu language. The Leiden University Library in the Netherlands has a copy of "Ezo Island Language Yezogasima Kotoba" (manuscript) co-edited by Tokunai and Siebold. Outside of Japan, the oldest work is "Sakhalin Ainu Vocabulary" (unpublished) edited by Russian naval officer Gavriil I. Davydov (1784-1809). ...
