...The victims were Armenians, European Jews, South American Indians, etc. From the viewpoint of emphasizing ethnicity, this was a policy of destroying the cultural identity of an ethnic group, that is, the cultural eradication of an ethnic group in the name of ethnic solidarity, i.e. ethnocide. Ethnocide is clearly distinguished from acculturation and cultural change, which are natural or endogenous processes.
