Ekoukada - Ekoukada

Japanese: 回向伽陀 - えこうかだ
Ekoukada - Ekoukada

...Even in the rare cases where they are performed, Gagaku pieces are played along with them, unrelated to the shomyo song. There are various types of gagaku gada, such as the sorai gada, which is chanted at the beginning of a memorial service when everyone worships together, the chugen gada, which is chanted at the turning point of the memorial service, and the ekou gada, which is chanted at the end of the memorial service to pray for the spread of the merits of the Buddhist ritual. Since there are several songs for each, they are sometimes called "Tennin gada" or "Shuzai gada," etc., after the opening lyrics.
