Liquid oxygen explosives - explosives
Also known as liquid oxygen explosive. An explosive made by absorbing liquid oxygen into a flammable material rich in carbonaceous matter, such as light charcoal. It is used by detonating it when the ratio is just right for the reaction C + O 2 → CO 2 to occur. It is easy to make and a powerful explosive, but it cannot be stored for long periods of time and is inconvenient to handle.
