… During the chaotic period at the end of the Tang Dynasty, aristocrats and intellectuals who fled from the Central Plains to Sichuan to escape the rebellions were given a good welcome, and this, combined with the fertility of the land, led to a flourishing cultural fortune. In 1942-43, Wang Jian's tomb, Yongling (the Tomb of Wang Jian of Former Shu), was excavated outside the west gate of Chengdu, and not only was a seated statue of Wang Jian discovered, but the coffin was also found to be surrounded by stone carvings of 24 musicians. There were two dancers and 22 instrument players, all female, and the tomb is highly regarded as an important resource for learning about the music and orchestra organization of the time. …

...The tomb of Wang Jian, former king of Shu during the Five Dynasties period, located in the western suburbs of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. It is called Yongling. Ouyang Xiu's New History of the Five Dynasties states that "He died in June of the first year of the Guangtian era (918), ... he was given the posthumous name Emperor Xiaode Minghui, and was called Gaozu."
