A state in which solid or liquid particles are suspended in a gas in a colloidal state. Also called an aerosol. Examples of this include mist, fog, smoke, mist, and smog. The closer to black the color is, as in the London smog, the more visibility is impaired and severe respiratory illnesses can occur. The particle diameter is approximately 60 μm (0.06 mm) or less.
