Aerosol (English spelling)

A state in which solid or liquid particles are suspended in a gas in a colloidal state. Also called an aerosol. Examples of this include mist, fog, smoke, mist, and smog. The closer to black the color is, as in the London smog, the more visibility is impaired and severe respiratory illnesses can occur. The particle diameter is approximately 60 μm (0.06 mm) or less.

固体または液体の微粒子が，気体中でコロイド状（→コロイド）になって浮遊している状態。エーロゾルともいう。もや，霧，煙，ミスト，スモッグなどがこれであり，ロンドン型スモッグのように色が暗黒に近いほど視程障害（→視程）を起こしたり，激しい呼吸器疾患を起こしたりする。粒子の径は，ほぼ 60μm（0.06mm）以下とされる。
