...A town in Futaba County, eastern Fukushima Prefecture. In 1951, Shinzan Town and Nagatsuka Village were merged to form Shineha Town as the first model for merging towns and villages in the prefecture, and in 1956, the town was renamed to its current name. Population: 7,990 (1995). Located in the center of the Hamadori region, facing the Pacific Ocean to the east. The JR Joban Line and National Route 6 run through the center, and National Route 288 connects it to Koriyama City. Shineha developed as a post station on the Hama Kaido road. To the north was the castle of the Shireha clan, but it was captured by Soma Moritane in 1492 (Meiō 1), and the castle lord of the Soma clan ruled the area thereafter. ...

…福島県東部，双葉郡の町。1951年に県下町村合体モデル第1号として新山（しんざん）町と長塚村が合体して標葉（しねは）町が誕生し，56年現名に改称。人口7990(1995)。浜通り地方の中央に位置し，東は太平洋に臨む。中心部をJR常磐線，国道6号線が縦貫し，国道288号線が郡山市と結ぶ。新山は浜街道の宿駅として発達。その北方には標葉氏の居城があったが，1492年(明応1)相馬盛胤に攻略され，以後相馬氏の城代がこの地を治めた。…
