…Generally, females do not show as dramatic changes in appearance as males. The Sacculina confragosa is a flat, yellow cocoon-shaped organism, measuring 10 mm in length and 5 mm in width, and attaches to rock crabs and flat-headed crabs commonly found on the coast. The Heterosaccus papillosus is pouch-shaped, measuring about 13 mm, and parasitizes stone crabs and two-spotted stone crabs.
