Duke of Urbino

Duke of Urbino

In 66 he was hired as the commander-in-chief of the Italian League (the Peace of Lodi), and defeated the Venetian army led by B. Colleoni, which was his rival, establishing himself as the most powerful mercenary commander in Italy. In 74 he was made Duke of Urbino. He died of malaria during the defense of Ferrara.
