...In Rome, the spring at the edge of the Forum, near the Temple of Vesta, was venerated as the home of the goddess Juturna, and on January 11, the Juturnalia was celebrated by people whose occupations involved the spring. Juturna, as one of the nymphs, was also prayed to in the Vulcanian festival on August 23, which celebrates Vulcan, the god of blacksmithing, to protect crops from fire.
