In early modern fishing villages, the composition of the peasant status did not change, just like in rural areas, but the peasant nets seen in the Uwajima and Yoshida domains were temporary net fishing management permitted to fishermen other than the Urakata peasants who paid the fishing tax and other duties and occupied and used the fishing grounds in front of the village, excluding the village officials who inherited the nets by hereditary means. …

...Hon-hyakusho in fishing villages. Terms such as Hamakata-hyakusho, Urakata-hyakusho, and Hamamono often refer to hon-gyosho.
