A summer-green fern of the Dryopteris family. The leaves are fascicled, lanceolate, and pinnately divided once, with a zigzag wing at the center axis. Sporangia occur near the edges of the lobes, and the envelopes are reniform and fall early. It grows in bright forest edges and slopes south of the southern Tohoku region.
