The very existence of the words Uminooya and Uminoko indicates the existence of a living organization in which Oya, as Ko, led and protected people, regardless of whether they were related by blood or not, other than parents and children. In ancient Japanese society, Mioya, who was worshiped as the common ancestor of the Uji (clan) and the Uji alliance in political, religious, and social senses, was also written as Mioya. ...
