Kadphises I

Japanese: カドフィセース[1世]（英語表記）Kadphises I

King of the Kushan Empire in ancient India. According to one theory, he reigned from 30 to 91 AD. His birth and death years are unknown. He was also known as Kujūla Kadphises, and is recorded as Qiu Zhuxi in the Chinese historical text "Book of the Later Han." He was a descendant of Guisho (Kushan), one of the five Bactrian feudal lords under the rule of the Great Yuezhi. He defeated the other four feudal lords, proclaimed himself king, and advanced into the Gandhara region of northwestern India. After laying the foundations of the Kushan Empire, he died at the age of over 80.

古代インド，クシャーナ朝の王。在位は一説によると後30‐91年ころ。生没年不詳。クジューラ･カドフィセースKujūla Kadphisesの名でも知られ，中国の史書《後漢書》では丘就郤と記される。大月氏支配下のバクトリアの5翕侯（きゆうこう）(諸侯)の一つ貴霜（きそう）(クシャーナ)翕侯の出身。他の4翕侯を倒して王と称し，西北インドのガンダーラ地方に進出。クシャーナ帝国の基礎を築いたのち，80余歳で死去した。
