…His representative work, Mālatīmādhava, consists of 10 acts, and tells the story of the love affair between the daughter of the chief minister of Padmāvati and the son of the chief minister of Vidarbha, which leads to various ups and downs before the two finally marry. Mahāvīracarita and Uttararāmacarita are seven-act plays based on the great epic poem Ramayana. The former tells the story of Prince Rama's marriage to his wife Sita, up to his triumphant return after defeating the demon king, but the fifth act and after are said to have been written by other authors. The latter tells the story of what happens after Rama returns to the capital.
