...This is a bimonthly women's home magazine published by the Costume Research Institute, which was established by Yasuji Hanamori (1911-78), and later by Kurashi no Techosha. It was first published in September 1948 under the name Utsukushii Kurashi no Techo (Beautiful Living Notebook). In March 1954, it was renamed Kurashi no Techo (Kurashi no Techo), but its editorial policy of "changing the way we live through the practice of everyday life rather than through ideals" has remained consistent since the beginning. *Some of the terminology used in "Beautiful Living Notebook" is listed below.
