A powerful official in the mid-Qing Dynasty of China. In Manchu, his name is pronounced Hesen. His surname was Niu Lu. He was from the Manchu Zhenghong Banner. In 1772 (the 37th year of the Qianlong era), he became a guard, and by winning the favor of Emperor Qianlong, he was promoted to the position of Minister of Military Affairs (Military Affairs Office) in 1776, a position he held for over 20 years. During that time, he held many important positions, his son married the emperor's daughter, and he wielded great power, but when Emperor Qianlong died in 1799 (the 4th year of the Jiaqing era), he was immediately charged with crimes and forced to commit suicide. During his term in office, he allegedly took large amounts of bribes, and his assets were confiscated, amounting to 800 million tael.

中国，清代中期の権臣。満州語ではHesenと発音する。姓は鈕祜禄（ニオフル）氏。満州正紅旗の人。1772年(乾隆37)侍衛となり，乾隆帝の寵愛をえて異常に昇進し，76年軍機大臣(軍機処)に任ぜられ，爾来20余年その地位にあった。その間多くの要職を兼ね，子は帝の娘と結婚し，非常な権勢をふるったが，99年(嘉慶4)乾隆帝が死ぬと直ちに罪を問われ，自殺させられた。在職中多額の賄賂をむさぼり取り，没収された財産は8億両にのぼったという。
