Walpole's Peace - Walpole's Peace

… Walpole adopted a policy of peace abroad, and from 1713 to 1739, England experienced the longest period of peace in the 18th century. This is called the Walpole Peace. Domestically, Walpole's greatest achievement was the liquidation of government debt, and in this time of peace and stability, the preparations for the Industrial Revolution were made.
