Walk Out St

Japanese: ウォーク・アウト・スト - うぉーくあうとすと
Walk Out St

...means a strike or a united strike. It refers to the act of workers refusing to provide labor and stopping work together in order to put pressure on capitalists to get their demands met. It is also abbreviated to "sutō" and is derived from the maritime term "strike." It is said that it came into use as a labor term because sailors who were dissatisfied with their treatment in the past would "lower the gaffer" and strike to stop the progress of their ships. Under capitalism, a struggle is inevitable between workers who have no way to earn a living other than selling their labor and working for capitalists, and capitalists who try to lower wages and working conditions as much as possible in order to increase profits. Strikes have been used as the most basic and effective weapon for workers in such struggles.

From [Industrial action]

[Means and legitimacy of industrial action]
Industrial action usually takes the form of non-provision of labor. This is a passive form and is called a walk-out strike. In terms of time, it may be a long-term strike, a wave-like strike, or a time-limited strike (leaving work on time, refusing to work overtime, refusing to work outside the office, or refusing to travel), and in terms of participation, it may be a full strike, partial strike, or designated strike. …
