Yojiro Uetake
1943- A wrestling player and coach from the late Showa to Heisei eras.
Born on January 12, 1943. Studied abroad at Oklahoma State University during his second year at Waseda University. Won the U.S. Collegiate Championships. Under the direction of coach Ichiro Hatta, he won gold medals in the freestyle bantamweight division at both the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and the 1968 Mexico Olympics. He was the wrestling coach at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He later ran a hotel chain. He was from Gunma Prefecture. His real name was Yojiro Obata.

昭和18年1月12日生まれ。早大2年のときオクラホマ州立大に留学。全米学生選手権で優勝。八田一朗監督のもと,昭和39年東京,43年メキシコ両五輪でフリースタイル-バンタム級で金メダル。51年モントリオール五輪のレスリング監督。のちホテルチェーンを経営。群馬県出身。本名は小幡洋次郎。
