Soviet poet. Born in Ligov to the family of an insurance salesman. Started out as a poet in the Moscow Futurist group "Centrifuge" under the influence of Symbolism. His first collection of poems, "Night Flute" (1914), shows the influence of Khlebnikov. During the Civil War, he published a collection of poems, "Bomb" (1921), in Vladivostok. In 1923, he joined the literary group "Lev (Left Artistic Front)" with his literary mentor Mayakovsky and others. A series of narrative poems and collections of poems, such as "Semyon Proskakov" (1928), are representative of this period.

ソ連邦の詩人。リゴフの保険外交員の家に生まれた。モスクワの未来派グループ〈遠心分離機〉の詩人として，象徴派の影響の下に出発。処女詩集《夜のフルート》(1914)には，フレーブニコフの影響が認められる。国内戦時代はウラジオストクで詩集《爆弾》(1921)を発表。1923年，文学上の師マヤコーフスキーらと共に文学団体〈レフ(芸術左翼戦線)〉に加わった。《セミョン･プロスカコフ》(1928)などの一連の物語詩，詩集がこの時期を代表する。
