Indravarman II, who established the 6th dynasty, moved the center of the monarchy back to Amaravati in the north and built a vast Buddhist temple at Indrapura (Dong Duong) and established the royal capital there. Chinese historical records refer to Champa after this dynasty as Champa, but after Vietnam in the north gained independence from China in the mid-10th century, the dynasty had to engage in fierce conflict with the Angkor dynasty and Vietnam in the west. ...
