A woman in Greek mythology. Daughter of Troy's king Priam and queen Hecuba, she was loved by Apollo and given the ability to predict prophecy, but later broke her promise and refused to give her body to the god. In anger, Apollo made her prophecies unbelievable. As a result, she predicted the destruction of Troy early on and tried desperately to prevent it with her prophecies, but to no avail. On the night of the fall of Troy, she was deceived by Ajax the Younger in front of the statue of Athena, and then she ended up falling into the hands of Agamemnon, who made her his lover and took her to Mycenae. There, too, she predicted Clytemnestra's plot to assassinate Agamemnon, but was unable to prevent it with her prophecies, and she herself was killed by Clytemnestra.

ギリシア神話の女性。トロイの王プリアモスと妃ヘカベの娘で，アポロンに愛され，予言の能力を授けられたが，そのあとで約束にそむき，神に体を与えるのを拒んだために，怒ったアポロンは，彼女の予言をだれも信じないようにしてしまった。そのために彼女は，トロイの破滅を早くから予知し，予言によってそれを食止めようと必死に努めたにもかかわらず，なんの効果もなく，トロイ落城の夜にはアテナ神像の前で小アイアスにより操をけがされ，そのあと結局アガメムノンの手に落ち，その愛人にされてミケーネに連れていかれた。そしてここでもクリュタイムネストラのアガメムノン暗殺の企てを予知しながら，予言によってそれを防ぐことができず，彼女自身もクリュタイムネストラの手にかかり殺されたという。
