Industrial Park

In the United States, the development of new industries has progressed with technological innovation since World War II, and in response to this, new types of industrial parks have been actively constructed by private capital and private organizations such as railroad companies and real estate companies, as well as local governments. In response to changes in the conditions surrounding industry, such as the development and improvement of roads and information means, the rapid increase in automobile commuting, the increase in the size of freight transport, improvements in the working environment, and integration with the local community, old industrial parks have been improved and new types of industrial parks, called industrial parks, with well-maintained environments such as greenery, have been built all over the country, with over 1,000 of them nationwide. In Japan, industrial land development projects such as land reclamation have been carried out since before the war, but the construction of full-scale industrial parks began in 1958 after World War II, when parks were built in Sagamihara, Hiratsuka, and Hachioji cities based on the Capital Region Development Act.
