Year of death: 24th year of Oei, 13th year of leap year 5 (June 27, 1417) Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. Military commander of the Muromachi period. Lord of Nitta Manor in Kozuke Province (Gunma Prefecture). Son of Mitsukuni. Jibu-daifu. There is also a theory that he was the surviving child of Nitta Yoshimune and was adopted by Mitsukuni. As he was married to the daughter of Inukake Uesugi Ujinori (Zenshu), he played an active role in supporting Ujinori's coup d'état in Kamakura in 1416. It is said that he boasted about his military achievements at the time, earning the hatred of those around him. When Ujinori was defeated in an attack by the Muromachi Shogunate forces in January of the following year, he fled and started a revolt in Nitta Manor, but was captured fighting Maiki Mochihiro and was beheaded in Kamakura.
