...They live in both freshwater and saltwater, but there are no deep-sea species. In addition to the Japanese name Namazu, the Japanese catfish family Siluridae includes two other species: P. biwaensis (Lake Biwa) and P. lithophilus (Lake Biwa and Lake Yogo). Other Japanese freshwater species include the Bagridae (3 species), Amblycipitidae (1 species), and Clariidae (1 species).
