Japanese: 慰礼城 - いれいじょう（英語表記）Wirye-sǒng

The first capital of Baekje, one of the three ancient kingdoms of Korea. According to the "Samguk Sagi," the founder of Baekje was from the Buyeo clan in the northeast, moved south and established the capital in Wirye, and soon moved south of the Han River. The exact location of Wirye is unknown. Imanishi Ryo has proposed that Wiryeseong and Namhansanseong are the same, and that the king's residence simply moved within the same area, and he places Wirye in present-day Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.
