[Raw]? Balf [Died] 1039 Persian court poet. He served the Ghaznid sultans Mahmud and Mas'ud, and was famous as the poet laureate of the dynasty, and controlled many court poets. As a representative anthemic poet of the first half of the 11th century, he contributed to the perfection of the Khorasan style of Persian poetry. Diwan-e `Unṣurī is mainly composed of anthems, and the introductions to the anthems are particularly excellent. In addition to anthems, he is also known as the author of the epic romance Wāmiq o `Adhrā.
