...The Civil Code recognizes common rights as a real right, has a long history of origin, and takes many different forms.
[Legal significance of common rights]
A common right is a real right under civil law that allows members of a common group to gather grass, fallen leaves, firewood, and building materials, graze cattle and horses, plant trees, and sometimes gather stone and shells in forests, wilderness, and other land in accordance with the regulations of the common group. A common group is a community made up of people who can exercise this right.
