[1] 〘名〙① 近世、歌舞伎で最下級の役者のいる部屋。楽屋の稲荷明神をまつってある近くにあったところからという。また、「いなり」は「居成(いなり)」から転じたものともいう。→居成。※雑俳・柳多留‐三四（1806）「茶や女ばかされに行くいなり町」② (①から転じて) 歌舞伎の端役を演ずる役者。また、芸のへたな役者。下立役(したたちやく)。お下(した)。若い衆(しゅ)。稲荷。※黄表紙・狂言好野暮大名（1784）「いなりまちと申しまして役者の下々でござります」[2] 長門国（山口県）下関にあった町名。現在の赤間町の北部にあたり、古く遊女町として知られた。※俳諧・誹枕（1680）下「文司の雁誰がかよひぢのいなり町〈随曲〉」
