〘Noun〙① One of the measurements for the space between pillars. The space between pillars is measured in six shaku (1.8 meters) on the carved ruler's scale, and this is considered to be one ken. It is mainly used in the Kanto, Tohoku, and Tokai regions. → Kyoma. [Haiku, Kebukuso (1638)] *Sekinezumi Manpitsu (around 1859) 15 "The term Inakama , which is used to determine the number of steps on a house's grounds, is thought to be a rule from ancient times, but its origins are still unknown." ② Refers to something that is not large enough in size. *Zappai, Yanagi Taru-48 (1809) "The Milky Way written on a strip of paper in an Inakama"
