For Christians, marriage is an order that God established when he created humans, and they believe that mutual encounters are joined by God and should not be divided by humans (Matthew 19:4-6). This is the basis for the monogamy and indissolubility of marriage in Christianity. In addition, they liken the relationship between husband and wife to the relationship between Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:24-32), and see married life between Christians as a sacrament that represents the relationship between Christ and the church.
