〘名〙① 官庁の役人。※続日本紀‐大宝元年(701)一一月乙酉「赦令已降、令下二所司一放上レ之」※宇治拾遺(1221頃)四「蔵人所の所司によしすけとかや云者ありけり」② 鎌倉幕府の職名の一つ。侍所、小侍所の次官で、別当を補佐した。※吾妻鏡‐建久二年(1191)正月一五日「所司 平景時 梶原平三」③ 室町幕府の職名の一つ。侍所、小侍所の長官。※武家名目抄(19C中か)職名部「足利殿の世となりては、別当をば補せずして、所司一員を置れたりければ」④ 貴族の家などの雑務をつかさどる者。また、世話役。※たまきはる(1219)「ことなることなき車の、おそく参りたるとて、康頼が所司にて、けしからずはらだちて、牛飼をいひののしるに」⑤ 僧侶の職名。行事・勾当・公文など寺務をつかさどる僧の総称。また上座・寺主・都維那(ついな)の三綱(さんごう)の称。※栄花(1028‐92頃)もとのしづく「御堂の所司、題名僧皆絹得つつ立ちぬ」
