Amakusa Underwater Park

...The continental shelf is developed to a depth of less than 200m, and offshore, sardines, horse mackerel, mackerel, and other fish are caught in the warm currents, while the rocky coastline is home to spiny lobsters, sea urchins, and abalone. It is also a treasure trove of rockfish and a great place for rock fishing. The coast is home to cliffs, oddly shaped rocks, and caves, and the area is designated as Unzen-Amakusa National Park, with scenic spots such as Kikaigaura and Myokenura (Namu Amakusa). The coast of Amakusa Town is home to a developed coral reef where many kinds of fish swim, and it is part of the Amakusa Underwater Park, along with Tomioka and Ushibuka. On the coast of Tomioka, there is a monument commemorating the poem "Unya Sanya" by Rai Sanyo, who wrote about the Amakusa Nada Sea.
