…In principle, the annual tax for rice fields was paid in rice, but in the Muromachi period, many of them changed to payment in cash. In manors that were descended from early manors, the annual tax amount (todai) in terms of tanbetsu (per tan) was determined early on according to the yield. For example, in Ichii Manor, which was owned by Todaiji Temple in Yamato Province, the amount was set at five levels: 2 todai, 3 todai, 4 todai, 5 todai, and 6 todai, according to the land inspection book from 1137 (Hōen 3). Manors that were donated land were often influenced by the public land and official property rate law (Kanmotsuritsubō) that existed before the donation, such as the uniform 3 todai for Kasuga Manor, which was owned by Todaiji Temple in Yamato Province, and Ikeda Manor, which was owned by Ichijōin Temple in Kofukuji Temple in the same province, and the 6 to 4 sho 8 godai seen in part of Tara Manor, which was owned by Todaiji Temple in Wakasa Province. …

…田の年貢は原則として米納であったが，室町時代には銭納化したところが多かった。　初期荘園の系譜をひく荘園では，早くから収穫量に応じた反別（たんべつ）の年貢量(斗代（とだい）)が決められており，たとえば大和国東大寺領櫟（いちい）荘では，1137年(保延3)の検田帳によると2斗代，3斗代，4斗代，5斗代，6斗代の5段階になっていた。寄進地系の荘園では，寄進前の公田官物率法（かんもつりつぽう）の影響をうけることが多かったようで，たとえば大和国東大寺領春日荘や同国興福寺一乗院領池田荘の一律の3斗代，若狭国東寺領太良（たら）荘の一部にみられる6斗4升8合代などはその例である。…
