...In 1507, this dojo was given a portrait of Amida Buddha by Honganji Shonyo and became a Shinshu dojo, and the area developed into a temple town that was a hub for local distribution. In 1577 (Tensho 5), the temple building was destroyed during Oda Nobunaga's attack on Saiga, but it was rebuilt in 1580 and called Itaya Dojo. Kennyo, who had been forced by Nobunaga to leave Ishiyama Honganji for Sagimori in Kii, established the temple foundation here and called it Kaizuka Gobo for three years from 1583 until he moved to Tenma in Osaka. ...
