Wooden door - Itatobira

...In the Zen style, the perimeter is made up of a decorative attic, and the center is made up of a mirror ceiling with no latticework on the underside.
[Entrances, fittings, transoms]
Until the Nara period, Japanese-style fixtures were wooden doors, but from the Heian period onwards, Shitomido and Mairado doors, which were adopted from residential buildings, came to be used. Sankarato doors were used in the Daibutsu and Zen styles.

[Japan]
In the Heian period Wamyōshō, a distinction was made between doors and doors based on the type of building they were used in, with doors being those found in halls and doors being those found in gates, but today, a rotating hinged door is called a door, as opposed to a sliding door, and the two are usually distinguished based on the difference in mechanism. The so-called rotating door style is older, and includes the ita door (Figure 1) and the sankarado (Figure 2). Ita doors are flat-surfaced doors that have been used in Japanese-style architecture since the Nara period, and are made by joining two or three boards vertically, although there are rare cases where they are made from a single board, such as in the Golden Hall of Horyu-ji Temple.
