A manor in Ito District, Kii Province (present-day Katsuragi Town, Ito District, Wakayama Prefecture). Also written as Kasada Manor. It was established as the territory of the retired Emperor Sutoku in 1147 (Kyuan 3), but it seems that it was confiscated the following year and reverted to public territory. Then in the second half of the 12th century, it became the property of Rengeoin (Sanjusangendo) in Kyoto, a temple built by Taira no Kiyomori for the retired Emperor Goshirakawa. In 83 (Juei 2), at the strong request of Mongaku, who worked hard to restore Jingo-ji Temple, it was donated by the retired Emperor Goshirakawa to Jingo-ji Temple, and was established the following year in 84 (Genryaku 1). From then on, it is thought to have been Jingo-ji Temple property throughout the Middle Ages, and Jingo-ji Temple has a famous map of Kasada Manor that is believed to have been created at the time of the establishment.
