…It is divided into several bays, with Watakano Island in the middle, and Cape Sugazaki to the north and Cape Anorizaki to the south approaching the mouth of the bay. It is a ria coast, and at the innermost part of the bay, which extends deep into the west, is Izōnoura, an inlet of a drowned valley. The Kamiji River flows into Izōnoura, forming an alluvial lowland in the basin, and at the back of the inlet, in Kaminogo, Isobe-cho, is the Izōnoura branch shrine of Ise Jingū. …
