A peninsula on the right bank of the St. Lawrence River estuary, east of Quebec, Canada. In the center is the Thick Shock Mountains, a continuation of the Appalachian Mountains, which rise to over 1,000 meters above sea level, but most of the area is made up of forested hills or hilly mountains. Residential areas are scattered along the coast, and there are many nature conservation areas, and the beautiful coastline and hills make it a tourist destination for hunting and fishing. Lumber and coastal fishing are the main industries, but there is also small-scale copper, zinc, and lead mining and pulp production.
