Born: May 18, 1889, Hryotsdalur [Died] November 21, 1975, Reykjavik Icelandic novelist. He initially aspired to be a Danish-language writer and remained in Denmark until 1939. He wrote many autobiographical and historical works, including Borgslægtens Historie (1912-14) (From the History of the Borgs) and Salige er de enfoldige (20) (Blessed are the poor in spirit).
