Golfingia ikedai (English name)

Japanese: イケダホシムシ（英語表記）Golfingia ikedai

A yellowish-brown, thin-skinned stellate worm of the phylum Stellopoda and order Stellopoda, family Pycnonotida. Body length is 5cm, width is about 6mm. The body surface appears smooth, but is covered with minute dermal papillae. The invaginated proboscis is about two-thirds the length of the trunk, and has no hooks. There are 12-14 rows of tentacles, each with about five tentacles, arranged radially around the mouth. It lives under stones in the intertidal zone. It is found from central Honshu southwards.

星口動物門星虫綱星虫目ホシムシ科。黄褐色で皮膚が薄いホシムシ。体長 5cm，体幅 6mm内外。体表面は一見なめらかであるが，微細な皮膚乳頭でおおわれる。陥入吻は体幹長の約3分の2の長さで，表面に鉤はない。口の周囲には5本内外の触手の列が放射状に 12～14列並ぶ。潮間帯の石の下にすむ。本州中部以南に分布する。
