A performer of the Fujimatsu school of Shinnai-bushi. (1) The First Generation (1686-1757, Jokyo 3-Horeki 7). His real name was Nonaka Hikojiro. He was one of the founders of Shinnai-bushi. He was originally a disciple of Miyakoji Bungo-no-jo and called himself Miyakoji Kaga-dayu. In the winter of 1745 (Enkyo 2), he became independent under the name Fujimatsu Satsuma, and received the title of Jō the following year, founding the Fujimatsu family. He performed at theaters in Edo, but his storytelling style was inherited from Bungo-no-jo, and the content of his performances did not seem to be very distinctive. The shamisen player was Takezawa Heihachi. The son of the first generation was called Satsuma, but his acting career is unknown, and the name was subsequently discontinued.
