...Located north of Lake Hamana, the Tenryu Hamanako Railway Line passes through Kanasashi at the southern end of the town. It is a mountainous area at the southwestern end of the Akaishi Mountains, with the Miyakoda River flowing in the northeast, the Iinoya River in the center, and the Jinguji River in the southwest, and settlements are scattered along the valleys. Iinoya, in the center, was the base of the Ii clan who ruled the area in the Middle Ages, and during the Nanboku-cho period, it became a base for the Southern Court, hosting Emperor Go-Daigo's son, Prince Muneyoshi. ...
